Mountain Volunteer Project

Reach out. Connect. Take part.

"At the core of a healthy community are people with the belief that the most powerful force in the world is the individual who has realized their power to do good."

The Mountain Volunteer Project (MVP) is Creating a Community where it is easy to Reach out, Connect, and Take part.

MVP is a new volunteer organization based out of Chester, CA that is seeking to help recruit, train, and place volunteers with nonprofits in our communities. The goals of the organization are to foster a sense of community involvement, create service opportunities, and provide support for nonprofit and community service providers.

SEE LOCAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

This project was formed out of a need to help connect community members to groups and organizations that need more involvement, resources, and general assistance from our communities. Rural communities in Northern California are struggling. Nonprofit organizations, churches, social services, and other groups and organizations seek to fill gaps in the needs of the people that live in and near our towns, yet there are seemingly never enough resources to go around. As a result, services are not getting to the people that need them.

Many people want to help, they want to donate their time and their resources towards bettering the plight of their communities, yet it can be exhausting, frustrating, and difficult to match up to a community organization. Many barriers can exist, from knowing who is looking for volunteers, when they need volunteers, training requirements, and networking and making connections to these organizations are but a few of the obstacles faced by those seeking to volunteer.

The Mountain Volunteer Project has as its core mission to find and recruit volunteers while working with nonprofit organizations to help fill gaps in their needs as they seek to fill gaps in the community’s needs.
